The shared passion for travel led both artists to the „Park and Ride Ottakring“ parking garage at 4 a.m. Together, they passed through the gate and entered the space.

What were once horse stables are now parking garages. In his book Non-Places: Introduction to an Anthropology of Supermodernity, Marc Augé reflects on how places like highways, shopping malls, train stations, and airports have become mono-functional spaces in urban and suburban environments. These „Non-Places“ lack a distinct identity or personal connection, fostering instead a sense of loneliness and uniformity.

Yet, despite the absence of identity in these spaces, traces of human presence remain—marks left by both people and their cars, captured by the artists. What was once the car owner’s nightmare now becomes a timeless archaeological artifact. The bumpers of cars touch the walls, while the absence and emptiness touches us.
